all in the neighborhood

It was Worldwide Knit in Public Day, but I confess I was doing more talking than knitting at Loop & Leaf on Saturday. Owner Celeste Varner had invited fiber artist Brecia Kralovic-Logan, who was teaching everyone to make tiny colorful felt balls; newly shorn alpacas (and owners) from Cusco North, in the Santa Ynez Valley; chocolatier Jessica Foster, who was passing out yummy truffles; and a talented group of knitters and spinners.

I was there, too, wearing my Montana tunic, signing copies of Shear Spirit, and pasting tattoos on a lot of good-natured friends.

Needless to say, the alpacas were stopping traffic, but there were chairs and couches out on the lawn, which beckoned passers-by to sit and stay a while, even without knitting needles.

I am sure we'll get used to seeing Shear Spirit projects knit by total strangers but the thrill is nowhere near worn off yet.

Suddenly my heavy brown one seems all wrong.  Just happen to have some nice Berroco Ultra Alpaca Light around that'd be a nice choice for it,  short of using the Victory Ranch (sigh) machinespun alpaca yarn that's shown in the book's version.

Oh yeah---report from TNNA as soon as I can formulate it.
