It was Worldwide Knit in Public Day, but I confess I was doing more talking than knitting at Loop & Leaf on Saturday. Owner Celeste Varner had invited fiber artist Brecia Kralovic-Logan, who was teaching everyone to make tiny colorful felt balls; newly shorn alpacas (and owners) from Cusco North, in the Santa Ynez Valley; chocolatier Jessica Foster, who was passing out yummy truffles; and a talented group of knitters and spinners.
I was there, too, wearing my Montana tunic, signing copies of Shear Spirit,
and pasting tattoos on a lot of good-natured friends.
Needless to say, the alpacas were stopping traffic, but there were
chairs and couches out on the lawn, which beckoned passers-by to sit
and stay a while, even without knitting needles.
